Yurie Hong (Greek, Latin, and Classical Studies) was a featured speaker at U of MN’s series “The Future of the Past: Rethinking Legacies of Injustice in the Study of Antiquity” hosted by the Department of Classical and Near Eastern Religions and Cultures. She also presented an online talk entitled “Words into Deeds: Bridging the Gap Between Academia and Activism” at University of British Columbia. This invited lecture was about how academic and scholarly skills can be transferred into the public sphere and about pedagogical practices that can help students prepare for a life of civic engagement.
