The Provost’s Award for Teaching Excellence to a Non-Tenure-Track Faculty Member Posted on October 26th, 2016 by

The Office of the Provost is excited to announce the newly-created Provost’s Award for Teaching Excellence to a Non-Tenure-Track Faculty Member. This award was created to recognize a Gustavus non-tenure-track faculty member for significant contributions to teaching and learning.

Eligibility: This award is open to any continuing, adjunct, visiting, or part-time faculty member as defined in the Faculty Manual who has taught or is teaching at Gustavus Adolphus College for a minimum of two semesters, with at least one of these semesters occurring during the 2016-17 academic year.

Evaluation Criteria: Nominations will be reviewed for teaching excellence, impact on student learning, and commitment to undergraduate education at Gustavus Adolphus College. The following criteria may be considered in preparing a nomination:

  • An approach to teaching and assessment that engages students in the process of learning
  • High standards that promote academic excellence
  • Innovative and effective teaching strategies
  • Efforts showing a commitment to improving teaching and learning

Nominations: Nominations will be accepted from administrators, faculty, students, or oneself. Nominations are due 15 April 2017.
