What excites you most about joining Gustavus Adolphus College?
The students, the community, and the college itself! I taught at Gustavus online during COVID-19, so I never got the opportunity to fully appreciate the campus experience. Coming back is more exciting this time!
Briefly describe your professional interests.
I am a filmmaker and film-media researcher. My work brings production-based case studies to explore the intersection of communication theory and practice.
What aspects of teaching do you find most rewarding?
When I realize that my students have not only learned the concepts and theories but have also internalized them and begun applying them to real-life situations.
What are you looking forward to exploring or engaging with in the Saint Peter community outside of your academic work?
Try more of the restaurants.
If you could have any superpower (related to your field or otherwise), what would it be and why?
Teleportation! I want to travel without wasting time. My film productions, film festivals and conferences take me to very different places around the world, and I would like to travel without long flights.
