Yurie Hong (Greek, Latin, and Classical Studies) delivered an invited lecture on March 16 at the University of Victoria, “Between Appreciation and Complicity: The Homeric Hymn to Demeter, Octavia Butler’s Kindred, and a Korean-American Take on Rape and Family History.” She also gave a brief presentation, “When the Personal is Professional: Scholarship and Marginalized Identities,” at a workshop the following day.
