Elizabeth Baer (English, retired) gave the Lazaroff Lecture in Jewish History at Ohio University on April 13. Her Talk was entitled “Sex, Racial Purity, and Imperialism: German Genocide in Africa and the Third Reich.” Earlier in the month, on April 4, Dr. Baer gave a talk for the Richmond, VA Jewish Community Council entitled “The Golem Lives! In Prague, In Legend, and in Comics!” In her capacity as a volunteer at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, she prerecorded an interview with author Wendy Holden which will be screened for museum donors in May 2022. In February, she presented a talk for the Holocaust Studies Center at the Mercer Community College in New Jersey. She is scheduled give a talk about Lucy Buck, a Civil War diarist, in Front Royal, VA in late May 2022, sponsored by the Virginia Piedmont Heritage Association.
