History major Wyatt Wenzel, ’14, did not require a STEM degree to succeed in the IT sector, which he joined in the summer of 2015 as part of Minneapolis-based Traust Consulting. As he explains, “my Gustavus History BA armed me with a ton of skills that I really believe gave me a huge advantage. . . . Daily responsibilities like gathering effective software requirements, process mapping, and communicating and managing change with stakeholders are all skills that can be developed from the discipline and rigor in writing and thinking a Gustavus History education demands.” Amid all his workplace responsibilities, Wyatt has managed to continue to play bandy for the USA National Men’s Bandy Championship Team, which has taken him to Scandinavia and Siberia.
