Carlos Mario Mejía Suárez’s article “Masculinidad hegemónica, conflicto y memoria en dos novelas de Alonso Sánchez Baute y Óscar Collazos” [“Hegemonic Masculinity, Conflict, and memory in two novels by Alonso Sanchez Baute and Oscar Collazos”] has been accepted for publication in the peer-reviewed volume tentatively entitled Literatura a través de las culturas [Literature Across Cultures], to be published by “Diente de León” in Bogota, Colombia. The article explores different literary strategies through which contemporary Colombian authors challenge images of hegemonic masculinity that tend to be associated with the characterization of fathers, soldiers, and writers in the context of the internal armed conflict. This article was completed thanks to the support of the John S. Kendall Center for Engaged Learning.
