Associate Professor of Chemistry, Dwight Stoll

Associate Professor of Chemistry Dwight Stoll gave an invited seminar at Iowa State University Department of Chemistry on January 27, 2017. The presentation, entitled “At the heart of the matter – Virtues, challenges, and progress associated with the interface in two-dimensional liquid chromatography”, featured research results from the work of Gusties Ray Sajulga (’17), Carston Dammann (’17), Eli Larson (’18), Hayley Lhotka (’19), and Tyler Brau (’19). This work, which is mainly funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation, is focused on the development and characterization of novel valve technology that will improve the performance of two-dimensional liquid chromatography (2D-LC). 2D-LC is being employed increasingly widely in fields ranging from environmental science to pharmaceutical analysis, as scientists continue to encounter samples of increasing complexity.
