Julie Bartley (Environment, Geography, and Earth Sciences) and students Miranda Vizoso-Marino (Geology ’27) and Katrinna Deters (Geology, Environmental Studies, and Studio Art ’26) presented their work at the Geological Society of America annual meeting in San Antonio, TX, over Fall Break. Miranda gave a poster titled “Stratigraphic interpretation of stromatolites on a mixed carbonate-clastic platform”; Katrinna gave a poster titled “Testing a database approach to describing microbialite features”; and Julie gave a talk, “Beyond morphology: Reading stromatolites as accretionary structures.”
