Jillian Downey (Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics)

Jillian Downey (Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics) and her colleagues have started a podcast called Talking Through Teaching Tensions Together (T5). The goal is to share a “teaching tension” experienced by post-secondary educators and discuss how they have approached it. The podcast does not try to provide the one right answer to the teaching tensions discussed, but rather highlights the experiences different educators have had. The first episodes, which came out in August, are about getting students to read and engage with the syllabus. They feature Amy Vizenor, associate professor of Education at Gustavus.
