Dr. Janie Frandsen has been appointed the Arthur Glass, Charles Hamrum, and Arne Langsjoen Endowed Professor of Biochemistry, a role that honors visionary teaching and active scientific research. This chair recognizes faculty excellence in student mentorship and a commitment to advancing biochemistry education.

Dr. Frandsen’s research investigates bacterial gene regulation through the lens of non-coding RNAs, work that holds promise for the development of new antibiotic therapies.
