Marcia Bunge (Religion) traveled to Tanzania to attend the retirement of Rev. Sarah Mwanga Mkanza and to bring greetings from the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and the ELCA’s Presiding Bishop. Bunge met seven Tanzanians who had graduated from ELCA colleges and universities, including Walter Maeda ’78. She also visited with the President and faculty members of Tumaini University Makumira, which is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania and part of one of the fastest-growing and largest Lutheran churches in the world.
