Tom LoFaro (Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics) was an invited speaker at the “Little Schools Dynamical Systems Seeding Conference.” This conference, funded by the American Institute of Mathematics, brings together researchers in dynamical systems from smaller institutions to foster research and collaboration.

Faculty Spotlight: Larissa McConnell

Larissa McConnell (Theatre and Dance) will be exhibiting her fiber arts/mixed media show, “déjà vu,” at the Arts Center of Saint Peter from March 5 through April 10. The artwork includes embroidery, watercolor, acrylic paint, etc, and combines the elements using math, architecture, atmospheric perspective, science, and more.

Faculty Spotlight: Kathy Lund Dean

Kathy Lund Dean (Economics and Management) was elected a Fellow of the Management & Organizational Behavior Teaching Society, the largest and oldest experiential teaching society in the business discipline. Membership in the Fellows represents MOBTS’ highest honor. The announcement is available online.

Faculty Spotlight: Blake Couey

Blake Couey (Religion) has published two chapters in new reference works for biblical studies from Oxford University Press. His chapter “Poetic Structures in Isaiah” appears in The Oxford Handbook of Isaiah (edited by Lena-Sofia Tiemeyer, 2021), and his chapter “Amos” appears in The Oxford Handbook of the Minor Prophets (edited by Julia M. O’Brien, 2021).

Jill Locke (Political Science) is part of the “Unashamed Citizenship: Minority Literary Voices in Contemporary Scandinavia” research project at the University of Oslo. The project is a multi-year collaboration, recently funded by the Research Council of Norway.
