Valerie Walker (Education)
Valerie Walker published the “Economics is Everywhere” curriculum through the Minnesota Council on Economic Education. The curriculum provides Minnesota teachers in grades 4, 5, 7 and 8 with lesson plans and materials that can be used to integrate grade-level economic benchmarks in commonly taught units from each grade’s “lead discipline.”

Jill Patterson (Theatre and Dance)
Jill Patterson was chosen through a juried selection process to present at the National Dance Educators Organization National Conference 2019 in Miami, Florida. Her presentation, “Utilizing the Creative Process to Cultivate Empathetic and Compassionate Movers” entailed her pedagogical process for the Guststavus ARTS credit class Contemporary Modern Dance I.
Tom LoFaro, 2019 Faculty Service Award Winner
Tom LoFaro (Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics Department) was selected as the 2019 recipient of the Gustavus Faculty Service Award. Presented each year at Founder’s Day, this award is the highest accolade a Gustavus faculty member can receive for distinguished service activities.
