Faculty Spotlight: Kjerstin Moody Posted on May 19th, 2022 by

Kjerstin Moody (Scandinavian Studies) chaired the panel “Postmodern Ecologies” at the annual Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study (SASS) conference held in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She also took part in a two-day visit to the island of St. Croix, a former colony of Denmark and current territory of the United States, facilitated and led by Dr. Lill-Ann Körber of Aarhus University in Denmark. In November she facilitated a class discussion with interdisciplinary M.F.A. students on cultural translation at ENSAPC: Paris Cergy National Graduate School of Art. She served on the organizing committee for the annual Association of Swedish Teachers and Researchers in America (ASTRA) conference which was held in October and had the theme “Ras, identitet och tillhörighet i Sverige förr och nu” [Race, Identity, and Belonging in Sweden in the Past and Present] and featured keynote speakers Dr. Monica L. Miller, Professor of English and Africana Studies at Barnard College, and the Swedish author and musician Jason Diakité.
